How to attract more traffic to your blog??

Every blog owner's main challenge is to make their articles popular and eventually attract more people to read it. Following are some methods, that you may adopt to increase traffic to your blog.

Make use of pinging services:
For those who are new to blogging, let me explain that 'pinging your blog' means that whenever your blog is updated, a 'ping' is sent out to let the website know that your blog has been updated. The thousands of people who visit those websites will see your blog flash accross the side of the screen as 'newly updated'.
Here are a few 'pinging' services that you can make use of : Yahoo’s blogs, weblogs.com, Google Blog search, ZingFast etc.

Sign up for RSS services such as FeedBurner:
it is basically a site that helps you to promote your blog’s content, and also to build and measure your audience.

Sign up at Technorati.com:
Visit technorati.com, there you’ll find an option towards the left side of the screen to “Claim Your Blog.” By 'claiming your blog' you get updated link counts, and you get to see your Technorati link. The millions of people who visit that site gets to see your blog listed there and it eventually leads to an increase in traffic to your blog.

Make it a habbit to post comments at other blogs:
once in a while, visit similar blogs to your own, and make it a point to post legitimate comments and then sign your name and also add the link to your blog.It will not only result in increased traffic to your blog, but you wll also get a good feedback from the people who read you blog.

you can ask owners of other blogs to post a link back to your blog:
Contact owners of other blogs(whose posts are similar to yours and one who has considerably good traffic to their own blogs) and ask them to add a link back to your site. Many will be more than happy to help you out. In return they might ask you to do the same in your site, do it, as you have got nothing to lose.

make use of keywords in your blog:
Websites like google adwords help to find out keywords which are most searched for in a day. Having a good number of keywords on a blog is a terrific way of getting popular search engine spiders to notice your blog. "Search engine spiders" are programs realeased by search engines that visit websites and reports back their findings to the search engine , which then lists that site. Make sure to have a lot of good keywords on your site to increase the chances of 'search engine spiders' visiting your site.

My experiments with 'the secret'

Being a bookie i spend hours in the library looking for books with unique and interesting content. One day i stumbled upon 'the secret'. The graphics on the cover and the short summary given at the back of the book was catchy, so i took it home. what i found inside was even catchier. The book revolves around 'The law of attraction' which according to the author is 'like attracts like'. The book asks you to keep your thoughts positive, whatever you are thinking, you are attracting the same into your life. We are like a transmission tower and our thoughts send out signals into the universe and the universe responds eventually by moving men and meterials to bring us what we thought about. The universe is pictured as a genie to whom our every wish is their command.
After going through all the chapters, i decided to give this one a try. The book promises that whatever we wish for will be given to us if we truly beleive that we are going to recieve it. That means, if you are visualising a million dollars and if you truly beleive in it, then the universe will bring it to you. But the book recommends that you start with small and simple things so i started off with 20$ and a new nokia N73 over my old nokia 3100! :D

i did everything the book asked me to(well, i thought i did). i visualized getting a 20$ check and the mobile and started 'feeling good' and i believed i got these things already. I did the same for almost 2 weeks. Then i started to get the feeling that the secret is not working for me. i thought maybe 'the secret' should have remained a secret. i searched the net and i found lots of people who have read 'the secret' and have experienced its magic. Then all of a sudden this thought struck me that my actions are contradictory to what i have wished for! The book says if you wish for a car, then make sure you clean your garage and make space for your new car. Truly believe that you are gonna get it and act as if you have already got it. So i sold off my old nokia 3100, took a new sim card and waited.

I got what i wished for the next week. My uncle came home for the holidays and guess what he brought me...a brand new NOKIA N73!!!! cant say i was surprised when he handed me the instrument 'coz somehow i knew i was gonna get it ;). And about the 20$, i still havent got it, but i know that someday i will. :)

EA's Dead Space: A Must Have

The first review out in the Xbox World 360 magazine gives it a generous 91% score, which is a really impressive rating. Off late, horror titles have been a bit disappointing, so EA's latest venture can inject some life in the genre. The game is a third person action/horror title where the player takes control of an engineer named Isaac Clarke on board of an interstellar mining ship. The game has been marketed profoundly by EA, with a special trailer called the "Loved Ones" by NameJames Wan.

The interstellar mining ship is called the Ishimura, and the review calls it a Rapture in space. According to the review, the game's Zero Gravity aspect adds a new level of challenge to the game, and at the same time makes it more exciting.

Kodak V1073

The good:
Looks, Build quality, Touchscreen interface, Smart Mode, HD movie capture, Good image saturation and skin tones, sharp pictures, 32MB in-built memory.

The Bad:
No bundled A/V cable, Poor LCD performance in daylight, Battery life, ISO 6400 and ISO 8000 modes don't help at all.

The Kodak V1273 we reviewed recently turned out to be not just a great looker but a good performer as well. The new interface coupled with the responsive SCHNEIDER-KREUZNACH VARIOGON and optical image stabiliser takes the overall experience to newer heights altogether.

The V1073 looks and feels almost identical to the V1273 albeit with a few minor changes here and there. So, you might just find most of the stuff being a repeat of the earlier review.
The Kodak V1073 has a 1/1.63 inch CCD (sensor type) that can capture 11MP (4016 x 2768) pictures. It uses a SCHNEIDER-KREUZNACH VARIOGON 37-111 mm (35 mm equiv.) lens that has a 3x optical zoom and optical image stabilisation as well. The integrated 5x digital zoom takes the total zoom range of the camera to 15x. The camera boasts shutter speeds ranging from 8 to 1/1164 secs.

The back of the camera houses a 230K pixel resolution 3-inch touch screen LCD. Like most other Kodak cameras, the V1073 has a 32MB internal memory and features an SDHC/SD card slot.

The camera measures exactly the same as the V1273, measuring 93.3 x 57.9 x 21.0 mm (W x H x D) and weighing 148 grams. It's pocketable enough for you to carry it in your shirt pocket.

Sennheiser HD 457

Accurate reproduction of highs and mids, Comfortable to wear, Cord take-up.

Leaks audio, Weak bass response.

Sennheiser is a brand that needs no introduction; they've been making fine pieces of audio hardware for a long time now. The HD 457 is another in their fine line up but with a difference, this is priced for those on a budget.
